So it's Friday, weigh in day.
I bought a scale on Wednesday in prep for
this.
There are way too many options when buying a scale.
Some offer to tell you far to much information, BMI, your water content,
percentage of height to weight and when was the last time you truly
cried. Others are rather basic. One of them had as its only perk an anti
microbial surface. Now I am suppose to be making a decision on a scale
but I can't stop thinking about how gross feet are. I went with a middle
of the road model. All I really wanted was it to be digital and not
creak. The one at my parents creaks in the same way chair subtly whines before
it crushes under your weight. Let's not discuss how I know what that sounds
like.
So I got a honey of a scale, stepped on it
this morning and without further stalling here are the stats.
I am 5 pounds down since the first of
the year.
And 13 pounds down since I gave up
sugar in November.
Now if my math is correct, 100 pounds in a
year breaks down to about 8.5 pounds a month. If I loose three more
pounds this month I should be on track. (that was like some sort of crazy dieting word problem just then)
I have had a few inquiries about the details
of my weight loss plan. I feel like this is kinda boring so I will keep
it brief.
I gave up sugar in November and I defined
this as "sweets". In an effort to take this slow I still
allowed myself to eat everything else. One restriction at a
time.
In December I stopped eating bread, with
small exceptions on Christmas day.
And in January I started paying attention to
added sugars and fried foods.
And perhaps next month I will take away
rainbows. It does sound like I am dropping everything that is fun to eat.
But I am finding some good alternatives. I really enjoy fruit as dessert
and the trick is if you are not eating sugar fruit get's a lot sweeter.
And one of my favorite treats is stevia and vanilla in coffee.
What really needs to happen next is for me to
add a consistent workout plan. But this is proving to be a confusing
adventure.
I'll tell you all about that
tomorrow.
Thanks for all your amazing support and
encouragement!
